Real quick… I stumbled upon an alternate ending to I AM LEGNED. And when I say alternate, I mean completely different. Legend was one of my favorite movies of the summer, it was fantastic. Will Smith, time and time again surprises me with his outstanding performances. The man’s just good, no other way about it.
Well what do you think? I personally liked the the theatrical version better, allowing Neville to survive would have been to much for me. I know the film deviated from Matheson’s novel in tone and some creative changes where taken. Ultimately the changes worked well for this movie. Generally I have many problems with an adaptation from my favorite books, but this was done very well. This ending would have been way to much for me. I love seeing the alt endings that are on DVD’s, generally there is a reason they didn’t make the final cut. It was cool to watch however.

i don’t know doug. after all of the doc’s hard work, i think i would of liked to see him survive. rambo made it out of 4 movies ALIVE, neville couldn’t make it thru one? lol

I sort of liked the ending. I wouldn’t have been disapointed to see him walk away though.
Boy I would have. Reading I Am Legend and loving the book, if they took that particular creative difference I would have been very upset. I dug watching it on the DVD, though. One of the better ALT endings in a long time.
