Justice League of America…2009

I’ll get right to the point.  Justice League is on the fast track over at Warners.  If you have not heard anything about this film, let me explain.  The Justice League, in a nut shell, is all the Warner Bros super hero’s teaming up to protect us weak un-super-hero’s from the forces of evil.  The League consists of Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Martian and maybe a handful of smaller super-hero’s.

George Miller (Mad Max, Babe 2) is still (thankfully) set to direct the movie.  The cast’s options have expired, however they have been instructed to keep working out for their roles in the film.  The cast consists mostly of lesser know actors.  Adam Brody, cast as the Flash, is the biggest star in the superhero lineup. Rapper Common nabbed the Green Lantern role; other thesps such as Armie Hammer Jr. (Batman) and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) were cast, let’s see if they remain the studios new hero’s.

The film was postponed due to the writers strike; the studio said it didn’t want to move ahead until the scribes had another shot at the script. Original writers Kieran and Michele Mulroney are busy polishing up the script, which is expected back at the studio in several weeks.  Then there will undoubtedly be rewrites and more rewrites, then we will get into production.  The studio claims the film is on the fast track and they need J.L. to out by 2009.   My Thoughts:Sure I’m excited, I love super hero movies and Justice League has been a childhood dream for me.  I remember sitting around with my buddies watching the cartoon wishing it was a movie.  We also wished Aliens Vs. Predator was a movie, so I guess the old adage holds true, be careful what you wish for.  If there is one beacon of hope that this movie is great (or even good) it’s the fact that George Miller is directing it. What do you think?
