Not saying that Rambo is stiff competition but I just can’t stand spoofs. It irritates me that these mindless pseudo-satiric comedy’s gain so much steam. It is safe to assume that the people seeing movies like “Meet The Spartans,” are not reading this site, if you are, no offense, I just wish you would spend your time and money on something with a little more substance. If you want or need a good laugh there are plenty good movies that provide real humor . Go see ”Juno.”
Spartans wins the box office duel, just edging out the new Rocky, opps I mean “Rambo.” I have not seen Rambo and I probably will wait to Netflix it, but what I’ve read is that it is exactly what you would expect it to be. John Rambo kills lots and lots of people in very creative ways.
Friday box office reports are:
“Meet the Spartans” 6.8 million (that is ridiculous)
“Rambo” 6.7 million (just missed big guy, but 6.7 is a record opener for you. Nice)
And everything else has dropped off substantially. Most notably “Cloverfield” with a 76% drop. Bummer.
